Dear Claude Families,
We are sure you are keeping up to date with all the news regarding COVID-19 and the direct effect it has had on schools across the Country. We are sure that you will appreciate that we are educationalists and not COVID-19 experts, and as such make decisions that we hope will ensure safety for your child, while still providing them the freedom of being a student. Previous communication from us has stated that we would allow face coverings as you as a parent, felt necessary.
With this being said, as COVID-19 cases within our county continue to rise we are having to make more decisions about the best way to proceed this school year in the hopes that we will be able to remain open and provide your student(s) with in-class instruction.
Today, we have received more information regarding cases that directly affect our school. With this information, we have discussed several options. At this time, we feel the best route to take is having all adults on school property properly wear masks/face shields at all times. All students 4th grade – 12th grade will also be required to wear a face covering. This will go into effect tomorrow morning, October 21, 2020. All students will need to enter the front doors of the Elementary School or the High School, respectively. Masks will be issued to any student or adult needing one.
With this in mind, please ensure that your students’ face masks are school appropriate and reiterate the importance of following face masks/face shields protocol guidelines that the CDC has set.
We apologize for this inconvenience and hope you understand and will reiterate to your student(s) the importance of following these guidelines.
