
POSITION: Programs Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Superintendent and Campus Principals
CONTRACT PERIOD: 219 Days – 11 months
SALARY RANGE: $43,000- 48,000
PRIMARY PURPOSES:
Coordinate the district programs for gifted and talented, ESL, 504,
At-Risk, RTI, and homeless students. Collaborate with district staff and
outside personnel to provide educational opportunities for each of these student
populations.
Serve
as campus assistant principal in the absence of the principal(s) when required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Valid Texas teaching
certificate with/or working on Mid-Management Certification or Principal
Certification
Demonstrated leadership on
district-wide committees and/or district-wide activities
Exceptional interpersonal
communication (written and oral) skills
Leadership, management, and
organizational skills
Ability to organize and
coordinate district-wide G/T, ESL, 504, At- Risk, Homeless, RTI, and state
Assessment programs.
Ability to interpret data

deliver training to adult learners

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Program Management
-
Implement/use procedures to identify and monitor G/T, ESL, 504, At-Risk,
RTI, and Homeless students at all grade levels district-wide.

Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the G/T, ESL, 504,
At-Risk, RTI, and Homeless student programs and implement changes based on
the findings.

Assist teachers to develop and provide students in special programs with
alternative coursework through curriculum modification, acceleration, etc.

Develop and conduct or arrange for staff development sessions, including
sessions on delivery of instruction, enriched learning in classroom
settings, and methods for identifying students in special programs.

Disseminate information regarding current research and significant
developments on the state and national levels in special programs.
Consultation
-
Provide resources and materials to aid staff in accomplishing program goals.

Plan and conduct appropriate parent meetings.

Consult with administrators, the counselor, teachers, community agencies,
and other relevant individuals regarding federal/special programs.

Assist in communicating information to parent and community members about
special school programs.

Participate in the development of district and campus improvement plans with
staff, parents, and community members.

Help principals develop, maintain, and use information systems and records
to maintain and track progress on campus performance objectives and academic
excellence indicators.
Budget and Inventory
-
Compile budget and cost estimates based on documented program needs.

Administer the specific program budgets in conjunction with campus goals and
ensure that programs are cost-effective and managed wisely.

Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and
supplies for the special programs.

Monitor grant-funded programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance
with regulations and guidelines.
Policy, Reports, and Law
-
Work with PEIMS staff to assure accurate PEIMS reporting for student
populations in special programs.

Assist with the collection, processing, and distribution of student program
data and interpret this information for guidance, administrative, and
instructional purposes.

Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records,
and other documents required.

Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of
Education rule, and the local board policy.
Administrative Management
-
Supervise operations and step in as assistant principal in principal’s
absence.

Assist the campus testing coordinator during testing.
Professional Growth and Development

Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job
assignment.
Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions.
Occasional travel: occasional
prolonged and irregular hours.
