The District

Claude ISD encompasses 823 square miles in Armstrong County, Texas. CISD is a rural, 1-A School with a 2006-2007 student enrollment of 350 students. The district is comprised of one Junior/Senior high school with grades 6 through 12 and one elementary school with grades PPCD (early childhood) though 5th. CISD is a Texas Education Agency Recognized school district. Community expectations are evident in the implementation of a conservative dress code while curriculum and instruction are cutting edge and discipline is research based. CISD is considered by its learning community to be one of the best kept secrets in the Texas Panhandle.

The Claude Independent School District learning community is committed to providing an exemplary educational experience to all students. The district is operated under the belief that all students can learn. CISD focuses effort and resources on meeting the varied needs of students through a variety of quality curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs and activities. Students have the opportunity to participate in Gifted and Talented programs, Dual Credit classes in upper level high school, Special Education and 504 programs, English as Second Language programs, Career and Technology and Tech Prep class offerings as well as TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) based core curriculum classes. Claude ISD students can participate in multiple athletic activities including football, basketball, baseball, track, tennis and golf, cheerleading, and cross country. FFA, UIL academic competitions, Student Council, and National Honor Society offer students the opportunity to focus on the development of student leadership and academic excellence.
